Sen.Cory Booker to host forum for women small business owners at EJB, April 11

U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) will host a forum for women small business owners on at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy on Friday, April 11 to highlight federal resources available to help entrepreneurs and to discuss solutions for common challenges to small business creation, growth and stability. The event will be held in the Special Events Forum, Civic Square Building, 33 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, N.J. on the Rutgers University campus (directions).

The event will run from 9:00 a.m. until approximately 12:00 p.m. Opening remarks from Senator Booker will begin at 9:00 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to arrive at 8:00 a.m. for registration and networking

The event will include a panel discussion as well as breakout sessions. Owners of businesses at every point of development – from the newly created to established companies – are encouraged to attend.  State representatives, officials from the Small Business Administration and its resource partners, as well as lenders of varying sizes, will be in attendance to guide meaningful discussion and answer questions during the panel and the breakout sessions. Speakers will address access to capital and federal contracting opportunities, among other topics.

This is the second in a series of small business forums Booker will host across New Jersey over the next few months to marshal federal government resources and to gather representatives to address issues and concerns of New Jersey’s small business owners so that they are better equipped to expand their businesses and employ more New Jerseyans. Booker held his first forum on March 14 in Camden.
