Marc Pfeiffer, the assistant director of Bloustein Local, a division of the Center for Urban Policy Research with The New Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC) presented ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ITS IMPACT ON LOCAL GOVERNMENTS as the first in a series of free virtual workshops NJAC will host in 2024 on a variety of topics that impact county governments across the State. This session introduced the new tool of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a revolutionary technology that could help government agencies provide services in an effective and efficient manner. The session also addressed how local governments could use chatbots (e.g. ChatGPT) and other AI driven applications along with potential ethical and policy implications.
