Bloustein lectuer, public health official Peter Tabbot is recipient of two awards

Peter N. Tabbot, Health Officer of the Rockaway Twp. Health Department and a part-time lecturer who teaches Principles of Public Health and Environmental & Occupational Health for the Bloustein School was recently honored with two awards by local public health agencies.

In October, New Jersey Public Health Association recognizes public health champions and individuals for their outstanding contributions to the cause of health of the public in New Jersey at its annual meeting. Tabbot earned the Dennis J. Sullivan Award, the New Jersey Public Health Association’s Highest Award. This award was established in 1976 and named after Dennis J. Sullivan who was a health officer who dedicated his life to improving the public health of New Jersey.

In December, the New Jersey Local Boards of Health Association recognized him with their Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his exceptional and significant public health contributions to the health and safety of the communities he has served..
